I’m gonna make a post on my new account @/gaylittlescarab explaining everything that happened with glutenpee to my knowledge, but for now I think it’s looking good that I might be able to get the account back, even if it’s not wanting to let me recover it. I’ll try to figure things out, and maybe once I make that post and go into detail on what happened I’ll have more eyes on my situation and more people who can help me.

Working on digitizing my physical journal entries. Definitely gonna touch a lot of these up. Not a fan of how I wrote the 9/11 one so I'm making a bunch of changes to it. Not the material itself just how it was formatted and stuff. I also misspelled a bunch of words. I was half asleep I'm usually pretty good with spelling stuff I was nominated to represent my class in the spelling bee from 3rd grade all the way to 5th grade and I placed 3rd in 5th grade and 5th in 3rd grade. We don't talk about 4th grade where I placed like 20th because I'd gotten no sleep. Notice how a lot of my big mistakes happen because I'm so so sleepy.

Why are people dunking on that Haminations kid and his song so hard? Like yeah it’s not great but it’s just 5 minutes of him being like “I love apple juice and hanging out with my friends” like it’s not something I can hate on without feeling like an asshole

In the same Chazington video SomethingElseYT’s “I’m Something Else” song got just as much attention and is honestly a funnier song for a variety of reasons I can’t really explain. I’ve found this song amusing for 3 years now ever since I first heard it, and I honestly really like it too. 

“Not only am I something… I’m something else😈😈😈” is so damn funny dude he thought that shit was so tuff and y'know what he was right

Been really interested in learning about other parts of the world recently. Right now it's mainly Western Europe. Ireland and Switzerland are two of the most interesting to me. I also like Denmark + Austria. I know some people would only count two of these as Western but whatever. Austria is so underrated which is crazy to me because Vienna was like THE city for classical music. I dunno, just my thoughts.

Is it only a tragedy when it happens to us?

Today is the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist attacks. Obviously, the events that unfolded on that day were a tragedy. I don't want what I'm saying to be taken the wrong way, but I see a lot of people get upset when people make light of what happened, and I do understand and sympathize with this perspective. However, I don't think people understand why this is so common. It's not just "oh they weren't alive to understand how shocking it was" but a bit more complex. I disagree with the sentiment that America "deserved 9/11," but the people who clutch pearls whenever someone makes jokes about it will often defend the atrocities America committed that killed just as many people, sometimes more. Like how the fallout of the attacks led to over 1 million dead in Iraq.

I was born in 2006, I do  not know what the months after 9/11 were truly like firsthand. I do know, however, that people like to say this country had united in a awy never seen before or since. I disagree. I've seen the way Muslims, Sikhs, or in fact any brown people for that matter were treated those supposedly "united" months. Many were victims of horrific hate crimes. 9/11 was a horrible tragedy, yes, but the way Americans have responded to it and treated each other because of it is also just as tragic. It's still being seen today with the outrage over NYC electing a Muslim mayor. A man who was 9 when the towers fell. Acting like he hasn't had a positive impact on the city in the months he's been in office. 

I dunno, I've talked about this time and time again, I don't have much more to say about this. Goodnight.

There's honestly not much I feel like talking about, so today will be a short one, but I did overhear a conversation about Bad Apple in another class. Our favorite lovable idiot isn't the only Touhou related thing we're celebrating today, however. The EoSD remake released today! Technically tomorrow in Japan, though. Haven't played it yet, but it looks really cool. I wonder what other Touhou games will be getting remakes in the future. I dunno, I haven't been online at all today. I've been studying for my Geology test tomorrow. We had a lab today and that was really fun. This other girl in the class helped out a lot, she seems nice! That's all from me today, though.

Trying something new

Decided to start doing these in an actual journal and digitizing them later, just as a way of reducing my screen time. Feels nice to give myself a break, y'know? I hope my handwriting isn't too shitty...

Finally caved and listened to Steely Dan for Steely Dan September. Y'all weren't kidding! I can't remember the last time I've heard an album as good as Aja. Some of my friends do NOT play about The Dan, and I see why!

 I also still need to watch Project Hail Mary. It looks really good. Haven't seen many Ryan Gosling movies but he's always great in everything. Another thing is that I know for a fact Project Hail Mary will end up being one of those movies I'm incredibly annoying about for like a month straight.

Warrior Cats is less a conventional series of novels and moreso a literary soap opera starring religious cats.

Instead of one continuous series, Warrior Cats is made up of several sub-series each consisting of six books. At the time of writing they're on the ninth sub-series with the fourth book of six coming out next month.

Each sub-series focuses on a different generation or group of cats. So while they're all connected it's not really one linear series.

So there's 52 books across each sub-series, but there's also standalone books that focus on some of the more popular and important characters. There are currently 19 of these, with the most recent one releasing... Tomorrow?! Genuinely had no idea when writing this up. Anyways, that adds up to 71 books. That's not even counting the manga, the novellas, the short stories, or the field guides. Or the graphic novels that are just retellings of the first two sub-series.

Warrior Cats is massive. You might be wondering how the author Erin Hunter has all this time on her hands. The answer is that Erin Hunter is more than one person. Several authors are behind the pen name, and each have played different roles in the development of the series. Victoria Holmes came up with a lot of the storylines and characters, while other authors alternate between writing each book, mainly Kate Cary and Cherith Baldry.

This has led to a lot of inconsistencies and issues with the lore, and just general writing issues overall. Which I think again adds to the whole idea of it being a "literary soap opera." It's more about the drama rather than the coherent storytelling that would draw readers into more conventional series like Percy Jackson or The Hunger Games.

This all makes it sound like it's a dumpster fire of a series, and while yes, even the diehard fans do tend to critique the writing a lot, it's worth mentioning that it has its own appeal and is beloved for a reason.

Today’s my six year tranniversary (that’s not like. the slur is it? I want to combine trans + anniversary and that’s the only way to do it and it’s really unfortunate)

What I’m trying to say is six years ago today I realized I was trans. It was incredibly obvious to everyone around me because I’d been questioning it a lot the past week or so but on the sixth I finally came to terms with it. 

I still wonder if I made the right call? I dunno, I was kinda just experimenting and I ended up feeling a lot better presenting as a girl online and something about it was comforting. My gender nowadays is weird and hard to explain beyond the box of just “girl” but I think girl is a good way to simplify it, there’s just so much more going on there with me to explain. 

I don’t wanna be “everything at once” but that’s a good song

So technically Touhou 6 remake is coming out on the 10th, not the 9th but I’m still using the 9th for the countdown because one I don’t feel like changing it and two I think technically it’s coming out on the 9th overseas and 10th in Japan??? I think because like timezones or something that’s what I’d heard at least. So technically it’s both ^_^

The Nora Drop

Started listening to new albums I haven’t yet heard because I haven’t been in a music discovery mood lately and I figured I should try to find some cool stuff. I listened to The Strokes’ “Is This It” and The White Stripes’ “Elephant”

Elephant was an alright album. I’ve heard better for sure. Seven Nation Army was the only real standout in my opinion

Is This It is an all time classic though. I say that but I’ve only heard it once. Point is I get why this is in the RYM top 100. Still a 9/10 though. 

I still have several more albums I wanna check out like 69 Love Songs and Crime of the Century but I’ve been lazy when it comes to those I wanna get in the right mindset for them.

Geology lab today was nice. I enjoy this class. Some of the other students are really nice and cool. I just get too nervous talking to people.
