July 2023 (July 31st 2023)

 Today marks the end of the 7th month of the year 2023. 

Today I beat Kirby and the Forgotten Land, the most recent mainline Kirby game (That is if you don't count remakes)
I don't know which game I'm gonna play next tbh

This month, although underwhelming in the beginning, I feel as if a glimmer of hope has shined through the past week or so. I feel like the Nora redemption arc is coming up. I feel more motivated in everything, I feel like my motivation to do everything I want to do is coming back and I'm so happy, but I'm still not where I want to be currently. 

Which is why I'm giving this month an 8/10! :3

I AM THE KIRBY GOAT! (July 27th 2023)

I'm currently hyperfixating on the Kirby games.

I beat both Star Allies AND Triple Deluxe today.

There are... 13 mainline Kirby games according to Wikipedia and I wanna try to beat all of them.

The first 6 mainline games (Dream Land, Adventure, Dream Land 2, Super Star, Dream Land 3, and Crystal Shards) are playable through Nintendo's online thing on the Switch, with Amazing Mirror soon to be added as well. 

I do not have Squeak Squad but I found it for pretty damn cheap online. Same with Planet Robobot.

I did buy Return to Dream Land Deluxe and although it isn't the original I'm still gonna count it.

I already have Triple Deluxe, Star Allies, and Forgotten Land.

So yeah. I just need Planet Robobot and Squeak Squad, and Nintendo needs to but Amazing Mirror on their Switch GBA emulator thing!!!

I KNOWWW there's Canvas Curse, Mass Attack, Epic Yarn, etc. But whether or not as to if those are mainline games is debated. (If I remember correctly I have all of those somewhere so I might play those as well.)

Got 2 More Hours In (July 26th 2023)

I drove for 2 more hours, On actual roads instead of a parking lot. Roads with minimal traffic, but I still drove on actual roads for the first time in 14 months again.

I think I'm getting more comfortable with it. I've got 19 hours and I need 50. So I need 31 hours more until I can get my license. I'm determined to get it before Fall Break, which is definitely possible!

I feel much happier and more determined recently. I'm getting out of this depressed state I've been in for so long.

I didn't drive myself home this time, though. Perhaps another time. I almost fucked up majorly the one time I did back in early 2022. But I think I could do it again. I was just too scared to do it in the moment.

I'm Driving Again! (July 25th 2023)

So 740 days ago on July 15th 2021 I got my learner's permit. They told me I needed to get 50 hours of driving experience under my belt before I could get my license. Didn't seem like that much of a challenge getting my hours in before my 16th Birthday. 

However, 2 years later. I'm 17 and still haven't even gotten close...

The first month I worked really hard towards my goal of 50 hours in 10 and a half months. Then I started to practice less and less and less until I stopped altogether around May 2022. I ended up with 15 hours and I hadn't driven since. 

Until today!

That's right, ya girl is driving again!

Going back to how I started, where I would practice in empty parking lots driving in circles. I did this for about 2 hours straight.

Which may sound agonizing, but I got to talk to my Dad which was nice, really kept me sane during the whole thing.

Honestly, it was really fun!

I've definitely gotta start doing that more often, with school starting back soon my goal of getting my license before I start my senior year that I set back in like April or May of this year is... NOT happening! Sucks that I'm starting driving again 2 weeks before the beginning of my senior year, but whatever.

Either way, I'm driving again after 14 months which is a huge thing for me. Very important moment for me, probably one of the top ten or maybe even five this year. 

I forgot to mention this when I first wrote this blog post, but I also drove in the rain for the first time. I was scared about it thinking I was gonna fuck up but I did great!

Oh yeah, and my parking wasn't shit this time either. I tend to have a problem with parking but not this time around! Ya girl's getting better.

Homebrewed My 3DS! (July 24th 2023)

 I homebrewed my 3DS, didn't realize how easy it would be. I know there's the whole meme but I didn't think it was true. Haha. 

I don't know if I'm gonna do anything with it, but it's cool to have in case I need it. I can play pretty much anything on my 3ds now, even games that are now unavailable. But I don't know if there's many games I'm that interested in at the moment. 

Oh, yeah! My laptop. I found an old charger that doesn't work perfectly, but it'll have to do before I get my replacement.

Huge fucking day. (July 21st 2023)

 So. Barbie. Oppenheimer. Pikmin 4. All in the same day.

I haven't seen either Barbie or Oppenheimer yet. I'm really excited to see the Barbie movie but I'm not all that interested in Oppenheimer. I'm sure it is fantastic and I hope everyone who was excited for it enjoyed it and it lived up to the hype and was everything y'all hoped it would be. Same for Barbie. 

Can I confess something? I've never played a Pikmin game. Will I attempt to get into the series now that Pikmin 4 is out? Maybe. It does look like something I'd be very interested in soooooooo... Perhaps! :D

Time flies by fast, don't it? (July 20th 2023)

 I'm gonna be a senior in a few days, crazy! 

I am very excited and hopeful for college. I'm excited to live my life, and nobody else's. 

I've always been a firm believer in the idea that you should live the life you choose to live, and that you should be in charge of your own destiny.

While for some people, that can be unrealistic. Hell, I've been having a crisis over it myself recently, I think anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it.

Sure, life can be a bleak depressing shitfest. But does it have to be? I don't think so! 

Sure, there are some things in life that are out of our control. But I think anyone has it in them to take on just about anything. With some obvious exceptions, of course.

I understand that the world isn't a perfect fantasyland utopia like I thought it was as a kid. There's a lot of terrible things in the world and life can be pretty fucked up sometimes.

I understand that I don't know what it's like to suffer on the level that other people have, and that there are people living in terrible circumstances they have no way of controlling. But I dream of a world where no one has to live like that. 

I know it's a childish and unrealistic dream of mine, but I'm not gonna give up hope. I want to see the world become the place my younger self dreamed of. I'm just a regular everyday person and I doubt I'll ever be able to make a major positive impact on the world as a whole, if I can make at least make a positive difference in the lives of a small portion of the world's population I'll be satisfied. 

But I understand, world peace is unobtainable.

Day 200! + Shoutout to Ween (July 19th 2023)

 Alright, as you may have noticed. I've changed the formatting of the titles of all my blog posts. I don't know, I just prefer this personally. 

I've been doing this for 200 days now, even though I started it on LiveJournal, moved to DeviantArt (ew) and eventually settled on BlogSpot, I've been doing this for 200 days now. I started on January 1st 2023 and while I have missed a few days, I've made up for the days I've missed every time so I have a blog post for every day this year, no gaps whatsoever!

I've also been doing the song of the day thing everyday, the thing about that is even if I missed a day of the blog, I've chosen a song for every day this year without fail thus far! Music is really my thing, y'know?

Speaking of music, today is the 3 year anniversary of my introduction to a band that would have a major impact on me.

That band is of course none other than the Pennsylvania-based alternative rock aka psychedelic rock aka r&b aka country aka sea shanty aka heavy metal aka shoegaze aka nu metal aka conscious hip hop aka breakcore aka french house aka pirate metal aka classical aka drum and bass aka mongolian throat singing aka k-pop  band, Ween!

I was first introduced to Ween through their album Chocolate & Cheese which has.... a few of those genres I listed as well as some I didn't. Guess you gotta listen to it for yourself to find out which ones!

Well, of course I heard Ocean Man through memes, but that doesn't count!

Of course, I liked it. But right away I wasn't obsessed with them as I would be later down the line.

That came when I listened to their 2003 album Quebec in August 2020 and that was when I heard it.

The song that made me fall in love with Ween.

The sixth track on the album, Tried and True. 

So you see, that's where the trouble began.

That song. That damned song.

Of course, I had heard other Ween songs I fell in love with before this.

"Take Me Away" "Spinal Meningitis" "Freedom of 76" "Roses Are Free" "What Deaner Was Talking About" "Mutilated Lips" "Cold Blows The Wind" "Buckingham Green" "Ocean Man" "She Wanted to Leave"

and I had even heard some I fell in love with before this. The first 5 tracks were also pretty great too and still among some of my favorite Ween songs. However, it was this fifth track that got me hooked. While I didn't listen to anything beyond Chocolate & Cheese, The Mollusk, and Quebec for a while, I was obsessed with Quebec. It was the perfect album to me. I had never heard anything as fantastic as this. 

in September I listened to Pure Guava and White Pepper, I went through a brief Pure Guava phase, "Little Birdy" "The Stallion Pt. 3" "Big Jilm" "The Goin Gets Tough From the Getgo" "Don't Get 2 Close 2 My Fantasy" However, I wasn't as into it as I was Quebec. The rest of the album didn't exist to me. Just those 5 songs. I know it might surprise some of you who knew me in 2021 that I didn't like "Push th' Little Daisies" during my first listen, but I didn't. As you know, it certainly grew on me.

In November 2020 I listened to GodWeenSatan, well half of it. I stopped halfway through and didn't try to listen to the whole album again until January 2021.

Oh yeah, let's talk about January 2021.

This is when I wasn't just obsessed with one Ween album in particular at a time. No, I was obsessed with their whole discography. I listened to the other albums I hadn't up to this point and I would listen to Ween pretty much constantly, and instead of it being one album it was a selection of my favorite songs from all of them! Including but not limited to!!!!

Pre-2023 glutenpee followers have probably seen this. But let me tell you the story.

It was December 29th 2022, early in the morning. I had to get my wisdom teeth out. While it didn't take long, when I got out of it I was HIGH AS A FLUFFING KITE.

I used to do silly roleplays online all the time, but now those days are long gone. I wish I could get back into it but I'm not sure where to go for that kinda thing. 

I'm in a few roleplay discord servers but I feel out of place considering my lack of experience, well not since I was like 10 years old at least.

By the way I don't mean any of that gross erp shit, Nothing against anyone into that, but that's not my thing. I'm still a minor after all, and I don't think I'd even be into it when I'm no longer a minor.

One time someone asked me to rp and I was so happy but then I found out they meant erp and was a little disappointed.

 I got my learner's permit 2 years ago on this day and I still haven't really put in the effort to get my license. In fact in my entire 16th year of living I didn't practice driving once. The last time I did I was 15 years old. It was May 2022, so about 14 months ago. At this rate I'll never fuckin get it. I'm just a little scared. I have no reason to be, I'm pretty good at driving. At least that's what everyone I've driven with has said.

I think I might need to relearn everything because it's been so long. Fuuuuuuuck.

It's called Bloons TD 6 and it's AWESOME.

I'm sure most people have heard of it but if you haven't played it, I highly recommend it.

It's 6.99 on the app store and google play store and 13.99 on Steam. Pretty cheap for one of the greatest games ever made.

 One year ago today I joined a discord server that changed me.

A server called "Rowdy Fuckers Cop Killers' ENDLESS WAR"

The server works in the style of a text-based MMORPG video game, but in a Discord server. 

I'm not verrrrrrryyyyy active in it, I've only played the game a little bit and I don't have much of an idea what I'm doing, but I love it!

It's where the "Rowdy" part of my username came from, as well as my obsession with slime. I wasn't as active in the game and community as much as I'd like to be within my first year, but I plan on being in there more.

Whatever, there's a good chance most of you don't know what I'm talking about.
