edgy cat roleplay soap opera

Warrior Cats is less a conventional series of novels and moreso a literary soap opera starring religious cats.

Instead of one continuous series, Warrior Cats is made up of several sub-series each consisting of six books. At the time of writing they're on the ninth sub-series with the fourth book of six coming out next month.

Each sub-series focuses on a different generation or group of cats. So while they're all connected it's not really one linear series.

So there's 52 books across each sub-series, but there's also standalone books that focus on some of the more popular and important characters. There are currently 19 of these, with the most recent one releasing... Tomorrow?! Genuinely had no idea when writing this up. Anyways, that adds up to 71 books. That's not even counting the manga, the novellas, the short stories, or the field guides. Or the graphic novels that are just retellings of the first two sub-series.

Warrior Cats is massive. You might be wondering how the author Erin Hunter has all this time on her hands. The answer is that Erin Hunter is more than one person. Several authors are behind the pen name, and each have played different roles in the development of the series. Victoria Holmes came up with a lot of the storylines and characters, while other authors alternate between writing each book, mainly Kate Cary and Cherith Baldry.

This has led to a lot of inconsistencies and issues with the lore, and just general writing issues overall. Which I think again adds to the whole idea of it being a "literary soap opera." It's more about the drama rather than the coherent storytelling that would draw readers into more conventional series like Percy Jackson or The Hunger Games.

This all makes it sound like it's a dumpster fire of a series, and while yes, even the diehard fans do tend to critique the writing a lot, it's worth mentioning that it has its own appeal and is beloved for a reason.

Today’s my six year tranniversary (that’s not like. the slur is it? I want to combine trans + anniversary and that’s the only way to do it and it’s really unfortunate)

What I’m trying to say is six years ago today I realized I was trans. It was incredibly obvious to everyone around me because I’d been questioning it a lot the past week or so but on the sixth I finally came to terms with it. 

I still wonder if I made the right call? I dunno, I was kinda just experimenting and I ended up feeling a lot better presenting as a girl online and something about it was comforting. My gender nowadays is weird and hard to explain beyond the box of just “girl” but I think girl is a good way to simplify it, there’s just so much more going on there with me to explain. 

I don’t wanna be “everything at once” but that’s a good song

So technically Touhou 6 remake is coming out on the 10th, not the 9th but I’m still using the 9th for the countdown because one I don’t feel like changing it and two I think technically it’s coming out on the 9th overseas and 10th in Japan??? I think because like timezones or something that’s what I’d heard at least. So technically it’s both ^_^

The Nora Drop

Started listening to new albums I haven’t yet heard because I haven’t been in a music discovery mood lately and I figured I should try to find some cool stuff. I listened to The Strokes’ “Is This It” and The White Stripes’ “Elephant”

Elephant was an alright album. I’ve heard better for sure. Seven Nation Army was the only real standout in my opinion

Is This It is an all time classic though. I say that but I’ve only heard it once. Point is I get why this is in the RYM top 100. Still a 9/10 though. 

I still have several more albums I wanna check out like 69 Love Songs and Crime of the Century but I’ve been lazy when it comes to those I wanna get in the right mindset for them.

Geology lab today was nice. I enjoy this class. Some of the other students are really nice and cool. I just get too nervous talking to people. 

The lab itself was fun too, rocks are cool as hell.  I’m very excited for more of this class.

I don’t really have much to share today. Classes were cool.

However I’m seeing how some people online are talking about Dolly Parton and it pisses me off how as soon as someone dies people try to dig up any bad thing they can about them. I also don’t play about Dolly she did more good for this world than I or any of her weird basement dwelling critics ever will so honestly go to hell I’m tired of the insane classist bullshit from people who love to act all progressive then whenever a tragedy affects the South they start talking about Hitler about how the entire South deserves it because we just so happen to be gerrymandered to Hell and back and we have a lot of maga drones unfortunately.

They got Tim Curry too??? Damn man.

I wasn’t too familiar with him. He was in Rocky Horror and IT. He was also the guy in that one Command and Conquer game that was like “I’m escaping to the one place that hasn’t been corrupted by Capitalism…SPACE!!” I thought that was pretty funny.

He was cool. Rest in peace.

Unfortunately I also have to see Rocky Horror discourse again now because he died. That’s only one of his roles, who cares. I won’t get into it because I haven’t seen it but people get so fucking annoying about it and I just don’t give a shit.

I’m devastated right now. I can hardly put it into words. 

I’ve lived in Tennessee my whole life. Dolly Parton was a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve been to Dollywood countless times, The Imagination Library was probably responsible for me being able to read on my own at a young age, I had a lot of her songs on iTunes as a kid, etc. 

I was in public when I found out, in the lobby of one of the buildings at my school. I found out on the RYM front page (embarrassing I know) and I audibly gasped. I know for a fact other people heard me, and I’m sure they understood what I was gasping about too. I started to notice other people around me learning the news too and their reactions. It was surreal. She was beloved all over the world, but especially here.

Rest In Peace, Dolly Parton. We will always love you.

Hopefully I’ll have my license by the end of the year >.< that’ll be crazy lol I’ve been trying to get it for 5 years but I’ve just been lazy as hell ya know?

I didn’t practice driving for the entirety of 2024 or 2025, and in 2023 I’d only practiced for about 6 hours in total. 

Most of my time came from 2021 and early 2022 lol. 

But whatevs, I’m determined to get this shit by the end of the year ^_^
