i need to get over it

August 14th 2025

Yeah I think I’m done with Homestuck. I’ll reread it some other time when I really have the motivation. Right now I’d rather write MeadowHeart lore mwehehehehe :3 listening to hella evil ass music too I hope this doesnt inspire me to write evil lore I feel too cute >~< also my friend has a new discord server that you know I had to join :P

I might replay Fire Emblem Three Houses if I can find the time because Bernadetta is just so so cute ehehehe…she’s kinda me if you think about it? Hmm…

This month is going by a bit fast. Not sure if this month is going by fast or if I’ve just slept through too much of it. I need more irl friends tbh. I have a few but I need more who live closer and I can hang out with outside of classes and stuff. I don’t really have any friends at college yet. I went through my first year under the radar. Theres some people I would’ve liked to gotten to know better but I’m a damn coward. This year needs to be different. I’ve been saying for years that "this year is the one" but I’m still the same antisocial dumbass I’ve been since 9th grade. I’ve just been waiting for people to talk to me first and that hasn’t been going well for me… damn…  I need to make the first move clearly God or whatever higher power there is out there is telling me to make the first move lol.

I love Cardiacs

August 13th 2025

A Little Man and a House and The Whole World Window is still one of the best albums I've ever heard. Cardiacs and Supertramp are peak British music. The Beatles and Radiohead are great but I personally prefer Cardiacs and Supertramp. I haven’t listened to Sing to God by Cardiacs in a while but I remember it in particular being quite the banger album.

Whatevs.

yuriful dreams

August 12th 2025

Had another very cute and silly dream that’s definitely gonna inspire MeadowHeart lore!!!
I don’t wanna get into the details because it would be spoilers for future projects but it was very very adorable. Been reading more Homestuck and yeah I don’t know if I’m gonna finish this tbh but I can try I guess. I also hung out with my silly kitties a little bit they’re so sweet I love them. Good cats best friends!!!! ^_^ Nermal fell asleep on me and I was petting her and she was loving it she’s a really sweet kitty most of the time she can be a little evil from time to time but I think it’s silly.

Somedays I wish I was a cute little moth flying around and being cute i dont knowwwwlike  a rosy maple moth  or something >~<

davejade is the most yuriful het ship ever dave is lowkey a girl i think like yeah therrs june egbert but what about dawn strider have we considered that. I think Strider would be a cute girl and DawnJade would be cute yuri. I’m pretty sure the fanon name for girl Dave is Dove Strider but I prefer Dawn Strider tbh. Either way these two are cuties together wait I just remembered I saw a Talkshow Boy edit to them years ago but I think it’s lost

I saw a Vrisrezi Keith Party edit a while ago which I also havent been able to find again but thats crazy because Keith Party is like "elite ball knowledge" as the kids say. Keith Party is underrated even in Talkshow Boy fan circles from what I’ve seen. I dunno just from what i’ve seen.

bluh im kinda tired im gonna call it here. See ya tomorrow

homestuck beh

August 11th 2025

Realistically do not think I am going to finish Homestuck this time. Maybe I should just listen to the lets reads and follow along.

Here's my character ranking though because I'm bored and I like doing these rankings when I’m out of ideas for things to write about on here:

1. Jade Harley
2. Dave Strider
3. Nepeta Leijon
4. Terezi Pyrope
5. Vriska Serket
6. Jake English
7. Gamzee Makara
8. John Egbert
9. Jane Crocker
10. Roxy Lalonde
11. Calliope
12. Meulin Leijon
13. Aradia Megido
14. Dirk Strider
15. Kanaya Maryam
16. Rose Lalonde
17. Karkat Vantas
18. Tavros Nitram
19. Caliborn
20. Kurloz Makara
21. Aranea Serket
22. Latula Pyrope
23. Equius Zahhak
24. Feferi Peixes
25. Sollux Captor
26. Meenah Peixes
27. Porrim Maryam
28. Rufioh Nitram
29. Eridan Ampora
30. Kankri Vantas
31. Damara Megido
32. Cronus Ampora
33. Horuss Zahhak
34. Mituna Captor

Just the classpected characters lmao. I know Cronus is considered the worst character in Homestuck but I don’t entirely hate him all that much like some people do.

Maybe I should try to explain these rankings since I have nothing better to do.

⚠️ Spoiler Warning!!!!!!!! ⚠️

Jade Harley (Witch of Space)
She’s a cutie, plain and simple. I had a bit of a crush on her when first reading… Not much has changed, huh?

Dave Strider (Knight of Time)
I happen to kin this insufferable prick. (Now you understand why I’m a Davejade shipper!)
Really though, I think him and Jade are cute together. Also he's easily responsible for some of the funniest, most quotable lines in the entire comic.
I’m kinda like the transfem Dave Strider if you think about it. Except I’m a Sylph of Blood because that’s a badass title.

Nepeta Leijon (Rogue of Heart)
The roleplay queen herself. She deserved so much better. She didn’t do anything relevant  or have any meaningful character development and died pretty early on but the fans still adore her, and for good reason. At least she lives on in Davepetasprite who actually kisses Jade!!!!! Closest thing we get to DaveJade/JadeNep. I love Davepetasprite if we were including sprites in the ranking they’d be like fourth

Terezi Pyrope (Seer of Mind)
Her interactions with Dave are so flippin peak. I kinda ship her with Nepeta too. I think they’d be cute girlfriends and go on little roleplay dates together. Nepeta and Tavros is another cute ship but this isn’t about them it’s about Terezi. She says "Surely you jest" shortly after her introduction and as you know surely you jest is my catchphrase so I gotta give her bonus points for that.

Vriska Serket (Thief of Light)
The best written character in Homestuck, full stop. Some people don’t like her, but I’d argue you should finish the comic before adamantly expressing your opinion on her. She did a lot wrong, absolutely. But I think she’s a very morally grey and complex character. Her interaction with John after killing Tavros, chills. I ship her and John too I  think they’d be cute together.

Jake English (Page of Hope)
There’s a lot that can be said about the alpha kids. I do kinda have issues with their dynamics and how they’re written but that doesn’t change the fact that I find them kinda interesting. My reasoning for Jake English being a favorite of mine is simple actually. I think the "double pistols and a wink" thing is badass and it reminds me of my sona. But I would never ever ever kin Jake English I "promise"

Gamzee Makara (Bard of Hope)
He sucks. I know he sucks. He’s awful and I should hate him. He’s the worst. That’s why I love him though. I love the clown bastard. Even if he killed my silly girl Nepeta. I probably shouldn’t like him that much for that reason but he’s such an unapologetically shitty evil murderous character it’s hilarious so I can’t be mad about it. MoThErFuCkInG MiRaClEs

John/June Egbert (Heir of Breath)
No matter what I call them it’s going to leave people upset so I’m just gonna go with John since he’s never been referred to as June or with she/her in any canon media.
I mean he’s basically the main character of the comic it’s not surprising that I like him lol. As for the June Egbert headcanon, I’m not entirely against it (I’m a trans woman myself) and the fanart of her is really cute but again I don’t think it’s going to amount to anything canon since it’s been like damn near six years and we still haven’t seen anything regarding Egbert’s supposed transition in canon yet.

Jane Crocker (Maid of Life)
I also had a huge crush on her when I was first getting into Homestuck. Can you tell I have a type? Also like Roxy said I love how she says things like "shucks buster" it’s so cute and also has kinda hijacked my vocabulary and yeah she kinda… has some issues near the end of the comic that are hard to watch to say the least. Still she’s a silly cutie and I’m a big fan of silly cuties

Roxy Lalonde (Rogue of Void)
Gay wine mom who likes cats. She’s living my dream life and I’m jealous. She’s also really pretty and again she likes cats and I like cats so I see a lot of myself in her also I ship her with Jane and Calliope. And speaking of Calliope!

Calliope (Muse of Space)
SHES SO CUTEEE I WANNA HUG HER!!! Her interactions with the alpha kids are so so so sweet ^u^ She’s just such a sweetheart and she deserves the world and then some

Meulin Leijon (Mage of Heart)
Aside from Aranea, Meenah, and maybe Kankri, the dancestors are a bit overlooked. Meenah and Kurloz are my favorites though because I think their relationship is absolutely adorable!

Aradia Megido (Maid of Time)
She’s very clearly an important character and I like her a lot but she also fell for the most mid man on Alternia. Tragic. She would’ve had goated yuri with literally any of the girls idk. Also her god tier outfit is sick as hell I love it probably my second favorite behind Jade's (Godtier Nepeta would’ve been sick too) Also if we’re talking about Homestuck characters Megalovania is her theme if anyone’s even though it’s most associated with Vriska.

Dirk Strider (Prince of Heart)
He’s kinda annoying but he has a cool design I think. Ult Dirk is sick as hell also he’s a brony and I think that’s pretty cool. Idk i feel like hes also a bit of a complex one. Not as much as Vriska but I find it kinda hard to talk about him. I suck at talking about most of these characters I just think they’re all kinda cool yknow??

Actually im kinda tired i dont feel like continuing this uh goodnight

all according to keikaku

August 10th 2025

Mannn I'm tired but hey I went  to the mall today and even though I didn't buy anything it was nice to get out of the house for a bit. I was gonna practice driving (because I still don't have my license after four years and haven't been behind the wheel in over two years) but I'm honestly just scared. I don't know how to explain it. I don't know how to get "un-scared" but I hope I can eventually because this is probably pathetic tbh.

I feel good about this upcoming school year, I have two online classes and two in-person classes this semester which kinda makes for an unusual schedule but I think I can handle it hehe. It's just a little strange.

I need to learn to drive so I can drive myself to college whenever I need to. If all goes according to keikaku (keikaku means plan) I'll have my license by the time I transfer to uni. A lot can change in a year y'know. I need to find that motivation I haven't had for years now, and I need to let go of my fear. It's been hard on me but I think I can do this.

I keep having... odd dreams. They may or may not inspire future MeadowHeart stories. ;) Keep a look-out for that. Trust me. I lowkey fucking suck but I'm gonna deliver some evil shit fr fr. You cannot stop me I am the queen of the harebrained scheming Meadow domain. Teehee.

Seriously, though. I used to have nightmares. Nowadays, my dreams have become strangely adorable and heartfelt. I'm not sure what happened. There's still some...unsettling things happening in my dreams every now and then, but for the most part they're just adorably silly. I definitely don't miss the nightmares I'll say that much. I'm kinda sleeping a lot too, actually.

I definitely need to fix my sleep schedule before I start back to school again...That shouldn't be too difficult though.

Instagram's new repost feature is pretty cool, even if TikTok did it first. Their map feature is pretty ugh, and Snapchat did it first. I hate Snapchat by the way I only have it because I have a cool username on there, I don't think it would be a good idea to share what my Snapchat username is but trust me my username kicks ass.

Just trust me on that one. hehe... Snapchat sucks though I'm sorry. I feel really silly as of recent I AM the silly girl I don't think I have anything else to say now goodnight probably ehehehe

Homestuck Anime Real

August 9th 2025

At first I thought it was an out of season April Fools joke but no actually!! Kinda sucks there's no ideal way to read the original webcomic (sure the books are cool but Homestuck really only actually works in the MSPA format) but I'm still excited to see where this goes, even if Vivziepop is behind it.

I don't really care about Hazbin or Helluva Boss either way. Tried to get into them I don't really like them all that much but it's whatever honestly. I have faith in the Homestuck animated pilot even if it's probably gonna be ass. Also Jade looks cute as hell which isn't a surprise because she always does GAH I LOVE JADE HARLEY HOMESTUCK

Picked the worst time to reread Homestuck

August 8th 2025

Sooooo yeah :/ the Unofficial Homestuck Collection was taken down, or is being taken down. Not sure. I downloaded it just in time but still very disappointing news.

That's all there really is to say on the matter. No offense but I don't understand why Hussie does everything they can to destroy any good will they have in the fanbase. I dunno.

Anyways I wrote my first proper album review today and it's not very good but I tried.

Nonagon Infinity - Reviewed by Nora Meadow. August 8th 2025

It's been about four years since my first listen, and I'm still just as in love with this as I was then, if not more. This is easily my favorite album from this band, which is no easy feat considering they've put out 27 of these damn things. Even their weakest releases are at least a little enjoyable.

Few albums have stuck with me quite like this one has. It is without a doubt my personal favorite of 2016, maybe even the 2010s as a whole.

There's not a dull moment on here. While I would consider Wah Wah to be the low point of the album, it's still pretty damn great. I'd also like to bring attention to Mr. Beat and Invisible Face, often considered to be some of Nonagon's weaker points, with the former sort of disrupting the flow a bit, I find them to be overlooked bangers. I would even say Mr. Beat is a much-needed break from the chaos of the first four tracks, bringing in a different type of chaos with the missing beats. (get it?) Unorthodox time signatures are nothing new, especially in genres like psychedelic and progressive rock, but this is the first song I've heard that's entirely built around it, with the title even being a tongue-in-cheek nod to it. It's seriously underrated.

Of course, I have to address the elephant in the room, which is the gimmick of this album being essentially "endless," with each track transitioning into the next, with the final track transitioning into the first one. I did not know about this going into the album. I just kept hearing about this band and wanted to listen to what seemed to be their most popular album, but this was a welcome surprise. Even if this wasn't the case, and it was just a standard album that ended properly, I would still think it's an incredible masterpiece, and no amount of poor mixing can change that for me. I'm really glad that this was the album that introduced me to this band, I wouldn't have it any other way.

"I wish I could hear this again for the first time. Absolutely blew me away. Still a damn masterpiece honestly. NONAGON INFINITY OPENS THE DOOR!"

113. Black Sabbath - Vol. 4

Fruity Rumpus Asshole Factory

August 7th 2025

Homestuck is so fluffing back??? There's a new website called Fruity Rumpus Asshole Factory and it seems pretty cool I signed up for it yesterday and I haven't been on there much but it seems like a pretty active HS fan community.

It's also home to several officially licensed fan projects which is absolutely sick!! I love when creators do stuff like that and actually work with fans and stuff!!

One of said fan projects goes by the name "Burning Down the House" nice Talking Heads reference teehee >w< Also Vast Error is on there, I've been meaning to read Vast Error for a while. First I wanna finish Homestuck again though ehehehe.... Redownloading the Unofficial Homestuck Collection right now, since I never redownloaded it after factory resetting my laptop last year.

Pretty cool Mexican experimental rock double album. The second half is definitely better than the first, in my opinion at least.

gizz and car seat headrest yapping

August 6th 2025

I have $10 left on the gift card I bought four more albums uh. Nonagon Infinity, Infest the Rats' Nest, Flying Microtonal Banana, and Butterfly 3000! I could buy Car Seat Headrest's numbered albums but idk if it's worth it. 3 is the best one so I miiiiight buy that one teehee. Speaking of the numbered albums I relistened to 4 today and it's still pretty okay. 3 is probably top 3 in the entire discography uhh fuck it ranking time

  1. Twin Fantasy (2018)
  2. Twin Fantasy (2011)
  3. 3
  4. Teens of Style
  5. My Back is Killing Me Baby
  6. How to Leave Town
  7. Teens of Denial
  8. Nervous Young Man
  9. Monomania
  10. The Scholars
  11. 4
  12. 1
  13. 2
  14. Making a Door Less Open
Madlo is still like a 6/10 tho lol

Song of the Day: Katy Perry - Hot n Cold
I really want to like this more than I do but I don't know what's stopping me.
nora classes in 2 weeks

Media Log 2025 - August 6th:

107. Ween - White Pepper
2000 Album, [A]wesome
The Beatles comparison is too easy to make especially when the name literally came from combining two Beatles albums' names. Even If You Don't is a beautiful masterpiece though oh my GOD. This album does have one of the few studio album Ween songs I'm not too big on that being "Pandy Fackler."

108. Car Seat Headrest - 4
2010 Album, [G]ood
The amateur production definitely hinders this album, but that doesn't stop it from having some pretty good songs. "Feel Like Daniel Johnston" is a personal favorite of mine.

109. Katy Perry - One of the Boys
2008 Album, [S]ubpar
I know she associates with terrible people like Dr. Luke or whatever but that has nothing to do with my low rating of this album it just didn't click with me lol. "I Kissed A Girl" is easily the best song on here, and "Ur So Gay" is a baffling disaster deserving of the coveted 1/10 aka [V]ile rating. It's not even only because the homophobia there's just a lot wrong with this song that I can't even begin to get into. It's like "Harajuku Girls" by Gwen Stefani.

August 5th 2025

BandCamp Gift Card is finally working, so I bought Fishing For Fishies. I might buy a couple other King Gizzard albums with it too since they took their stuff off of Spotify and I want to support them. I wish Spotify wasn't so convenient because I lowkey wanna ditch it. If I ever start making music again I don't know if I'll put it on Spotify. :P

A classic tbh. It's in my playlist I think it would be funny if I listened to it in full every time it came up on shuffle.

106. Car Seat Headrest - Nervous Young Man

It's a bit long, a little over two hours, but it's pretty great. I love Homes and Afterglow so much.

Bandcamp Please :(

August 2nd 2025

Another very sleepy day. :/

I feel positively silly though!! Even when I’m back in my depression habits I can’t help but feel somewhat happy. Just a little bit…

I’ll get out of this depression though. Ya girl does have something she’d like to complain about just a little. BandCamp is an amazing service but they’re not letting me use my damn $50 gift card I bought for some reason. I’m considering contacting support but I don’t know maybe I’m just supposed to wait for it to "activate" or some shit. I just wanna buy a couple King Gizzard albums since they took their shit off of Spotify.

August 1st 2025

Slept most of the day, I don't have too much to talk about tbh. I should be happy today is Friday but I don't have much to talk about. I don't understand anything these days. I've kinda been on Twitter a lot recently, it sucks but it's also pretty funny. I saw a lot of cute stuff that I retweeted because I love retweeting cute stuff. I try not to engage with drama too much but sometimes there will be some really entertaining shit and I can't help it. I don't think it's at a point where I have a problem though.

A surprisingly positive year for me, it would seem?

July 31st 2025

Alright! July is coming to a close. How would I rate this month? Hell of a lot better than last year's for sure. 8/10 I guess. I'm slowly but surely getting over my depression, and making quite a bit of meaningful progress when it comes to my personal projects.

  1. July - 8/10
  2. May - 8/10
  3. April - 8/10
  4. March - 8/10
  5. February - 7/10

rewatched a childhood movie that was important to me + yapping abt music

July 30th 2025

I remember in first grade reading the book Matilda by Roald Dahl, think I watched the movie too. Funny enough I actually was six and a half at the time. Anyways, I didn't understand why but I think I lowkey related to her just a little bit as a kid. My parents were cool and I didn't have some evil principal or whatever and I don't have psychic powers and I wasn't reading shit that was TOO much above my level nor was I doing math that only calculators could do. Obviously. It resonated with me metaphorically which clearly was the intention but I feel like there's this increasingly common idea that everything has to be literal or whatever. At least that's something I've noticed recently.

I bring all of this up because I watched the movie again today and it still really speaks to me in some deep way. I think this idea that "no matter how small a person is they can have big ideas" or however the saying goes is being forgotten these days despite how relevant it continues to be. uhh yeah good movie 10/10 lowkey also Danny DeVito is the goat of course.

I just don't have much else to talk about today lol. Maybe I could talk about music. I saw this "About you: music" trend going around on Reddit and decided to hop on it. I feel like I have a lot I could talk about here.

Favorite Album: Oingo Boingo - Dead Man's Party
Self explanatory. Every song on here is a banger. I've called a lot of albums my all-time favorite but this one might be the true holder of that title. This album is partially to blame for my love of Halloween and I first heard it during a time of my life which I didn't know yet but would be the most important. I've talked about it before, but when people talk about "The first day of the rest of your life." November 1st 2019 immediately comes to mind. Ever since that Halloween of 2019 my life has been completely flipped upside down on its head, and I don't think things ever will truly go back to normal as I knew them. I associate this album with that time and I wonder if that's part of the reason I like it so much. Who knows, really?

Best Narrative: My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
I think all of My Chemical Romance's albums tell interesting stories, I'm pretty sure they're also all intertwined in some way but I don't really feel like getting into all of that right now, Gerard Way is incredibly talented as a storyteller, musician, artist, all of it really. Back to Halloween of 2019, I remember the announcement that MCR was coming out of hiatus. I'd never been into them before then, but I decided to give them a chance. I decided to listen to "Welcome to the Black Parade" and I'm not gonna lie, it didn't click at first. I'm not sure why because now it's one of my favorite songs of all time but yeah. It wouldn't be another 3 years before I really got into My Chemical Romance, and I'm so glad I did because they're pretty incredible.
As for some of the other songs on this album
"Cancer" hits hard and it's one I hold back tears when listening to.
"Mama" is one I can kind of relate to? I'm not sure.
It makes sense as to why "Blood" is so underrated, given that it's a hidden track and all, but damn it's pretty good for what it is.
A lot of MCR fans don't like "Teenagers" despite its popularity, but I never understood that to be completely honest.

Favorite Cover: King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Flying Microtonal Banana
It's nothing too crazy, but I still think it looks absolutely sick. If I were to ever get a tattoo (which I don't intend on getting tattoos, not any time soon at least) I'd probably get this album cover. I don't think I really need to explain what I love about this album art, I feel like just looking at it you can understand. It really speaks for itself. Album itself isn't too bad either. The first 5 songs + Nuclear Fusion are absolutely fucking incredible. Which is a pretty big achievement for an album that's only 9 tracks, y'know?

I'll Listen Someday: Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
I've heard a lot of good things about this album. It's probably the most important and iconic album of all time that I still haven't listened to yet. I've heard all the "classics" so to speak. Thriller, Abbey Road, The Dark Side of the Moon, Pet Sounds, What's Going On, Nevermind, Purple Rain, The Doors, Master of Puppets, etc. Not Rumours, though. Not yet at least. I'm not even sure why I haven't gotten around to it yet. I just haven't.

Personal Impact: The Doors - The Doors
I don't even know how to explain why this album is so important to me, it just kinda is in some weird stupid way. Despite how weird it is, it still has this intrigue to it that makes it feel... is refined the right word? I'm not sure. Someone described this album as "aura farming music" and I guess that's one way to put it lol.

Bad Day Cure: Supertramp - Breakfast in America
This and the personal impact spot are interchangeable I think. When the title track came up in my shuffle I didn't think I knew it but it hit me like a truck when I recognized it. The Doors self titled and Breakfast in America are VERY different albums but they both have the same impact on me with how charming and fascinating they are in their musical and lyrical themes. I feel like both of these albums play an important role as who I am as a person and it's something I don't really understand or know how to put into words, but I'm sure someday I'll find the right words to describe what both of these albums mean to me. I can say this about a majority of the albums on here. Including the ones I previously named like Dead Man's Party and The Black Parade. Some of the upcoming albums are also personally significant to me too, but we'll get to them when we get to them.

You Enjoy But Most Don't: Weezer - Weezer [Black Album]
It's definitely not one I revisit often, and there aren't many standout tracks after the first four, but I don't think there's any particularly bad songs on this album. "Can't Knock The Hustle", and yes, even "Living in LA", are some of my favorites. I've always been into some of Weezer's more disliked songs such as the aforementioned "Living in LA" and "Thank God For Girls," which by the way TGFG is my personal favorite from the white album and there's nothing you can do about it >:3 but I'm getting off topic. Point is, The Black Album really isn't that bad in my personal opinion. I think we can all agree it doesn't come close to some of Weezer's biggest flops like Raditude and Pacific Daydream (I think the former is actually just a tiny bit overhated but I digress)

You Don't Enjoy, But Most Do: Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Yr Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven
Probably my least favorite of the RYM Top 100. I just don't get it, okay?! It's not a bad album and I'm not gonna pretend like it is, I just don't understand it. Clearly everyone else sees something in this that I've never been able to and I'm really happy for them. I don't get it because I've listened to other GY!BE albums and they were fairly decent but this one has never clicked with me despite being their most popular. I'm not too into Post-Rock in general. Swans and Slint are pretty good, but I've struggled to get into the genre quite a bit honestly. I should've put Soundtracks for the Blind in the "not usually my thing but" spot huh.

Underrated: Cardiacs - A Little Man and a House and the Whole World Window
I'm indecisive as shit so I'm just gonna say this is another contender for my favorite album of all time. Another one I genuinely think there isn't a dull second of. The opener blew me away when I heard it for the first time. Also, the album cover obviously isn't where my obsession with flowers came from, but it would be funny if that was the case wouldn't it? In all seriousness, I still associate this album with my love for flowers even if that's not where it came from. You can call that association a bit strange and I wouldn't argue with you, but that's how it is lol. I don't remember who recommended this one to me on RateYourMusic but seriously thank you so much for your recommendation because this album absolutely fucks I love it so much. It's another one that is incredibly impactful to who I am as a person. Hell yes.

Overrated: Radiohead - OK Computer
I wouldn't say I'm too into Radiohead in general. They have some songs I love. Idioteque, Everything in Its Right Place, Just, My Iron Lung, and from this album in particular, Karma Police and No Surprises. When I joined RateYourMusic this was the #1 album of all time on there. I think it's good but I don't really...get it? Like even in terms of Radiohead's discography I prefer The Bends and Kid A, (I still have four albums I need to listen to as well though, but I'll get to them.) No Surprises is an incredible song, probably my favorite from them actually but overall I think there's something I'm missing with this album.

Not Usually My Thing: Metallica - Ride the Lightning
I've struggled trying to get into metal as a genre tbh. There's quite a bit of stuff I like but metal is weird in that you have to like certain stuff or you're not a "real fan" of the genre and I always thought that was kinda bullshit. Like ok yeah Sleep Token sucks but I mean I don't get why people who like them get so much shit for it. It's not just Sleep Token, though. Even if you like the well respected iconic stuff like Iron Maiden or Metallica you're not a "real fan" apparently. It doesn't make sense to me. I've tried getting into the more heavy brutal stuff but it's just overall not very interesting to me. I'll stick with Metallica and Iron Maiden thank you.

Best Instrumental: Daft Punk - Discovery
It's not an entirely instrumental album, however:
Aerodynamic, Crescendolls, Nightvision, Superheroes, High Life, Voyager, Veridis Quo, Short Circuit
8/14. I think it's reasonable to put it in this category. Besides, some of those instrumental tracks are absolutely mindblowing. Aerodynamic, Crescendolls, High Life, and Especially Veridis Quo in particular being some of my favorites. In fact, I'd call Veridis Quo my favorite Daft Punk song, probably.  Daft Punk has always made banger instrumentals, their first album Homework was full of them in my opinion. There's only two, maybe three tracks that have actual proper lyrics which made it a little hard for me to really appreciate Homework on first listen but there's some great stuff on there. Da Funk, Phoenix, Fresh, and my personal favorite which is High Fidelity.
Point is, Daft Punk rocks.

Best Vocals: Thundercat - Drunk
Thundercat is honestly one of the most talented artists of our generation, God blessed this man with an incredible voice and unmatched bass skills and he uses them to write songs about jerking off and eating pizza. Not all of his songs are like that but still I always thought it was a funny assessment. Also, his work on other artists' projects is fantastic as well. "Wesley's Theory" and "These Walls" are two of the best songs on TPAB (#1 album on RateYourMusic btw) and it's in large part thanks to him. Thundercat is awesome, this album is incredible. Case closed.

Simple, But Fun: Lemon Demon - Dinosaurchestra
Damn Skippy could go here too depending on who you ask but I love the childlike whimsy and carefree silliness of Neil's earlier work. It's something I see a lot of myself in. Neil's talent to make even some of the more depressing tracks on here like "Indie Cindy & The Lo-Fi Lullabies" or "Eyewishes" or "Vow of Silence" fun listens is not talked about enough. Even on some of the bonus tracks such as "It Can Get Lonely In My Mansion" "Birthday (Alligators and Pretzel Makers" "Being Alone on Valentine's Day" "White Bread Boyfriend" and "The Next Dimension" all of which should've honestly ended up on the final album tbh (although it's already long enough tbf) but yknow just goes to show how great this album is even the outtakes are awesome

Best Mixtape: Death Grips - Exmilitary
A friend in 6th grade played Takyon for me and it was the craziest shit to me. I went home and downloaded the album, only listened to the first 5 tracks for the next few years but eventually I'd get really into Death Grips and listen to the whole thing. It's still my favorite release from them and honestly I don't think anything else comes even remotely close to this.

Consistent Discography: Tyler, the Creator - IGOR
Tyler's discography can be considered the opposite of consistent, to be completely fair. But I wanted to fit this album in here somewhere so I decided to interpret "consistent" in my own way and decided "Yeah, Tyler usually consistently releases an album every odd year" (except for 2024's Chromakopia but aside from that he's been consistent with that release schedule for 16 years now.) It's definitely not what the original creator of this template meant with "consistent discography" but hey whatever lets me show this fantastic work of art some love works for me. This is another album that didn't click with me when I first heard it but I'm so glad it clicked eventually because it's another one of my all-time favorites.

Biggest Letdown: Gorillaz - Cracker Island
I know. I enjoyed Song Machine and The Now Now quite a bit actually. I know people say Gorillaz has been on a decline since their comeback with Humanz in 2017 but I didn't really understand what they were talking about until this album came out. It just feels so empty compared to their other releases, which is crazy because they have some awesome features on here. The title track has Thundercat who I've already mentioned is one of my favorite artists of all time. Aside from him though. Stevie Nicks??? Tame Impala??? Beck??? This could've been something great, but it just. Wasn't.

Biggest Surprise: Will Wood - In Case I Make It
A very pleasant and welcome one at that. I've always been a fan of Will Wood for his chaotic energy and lyrics, so I really wasn't expecting to enjoy an album that even before release was advertised as straying away from such, being a more sincere and introspective work. However, that's why it's so great. It's genuine, it's heartfelt, and that works in its favor. If Will's work takes this direction going forward I'd be satisfied, because he's damn good at it.

Best Soundtrack: Jay Tholen - Hypnospace Outlaw
It's this or Touhou for sure. Touhou's soundtracks are always fantastic, but I ultimately went with Hypnospace Outlaw because it's just so varied and every track is utilized nearly perfectly in the game. It's often said that a video game's soundtrack is incredibly important in defining the experience, and I think that's never been more true than it is here.

Most Unique: Kate Bush - The Dreaming
Kate Bush doesn't really get enough credit for just how eccentric she can be at times. Her debut single was a retelling of the Emily Bronte novel Wuthering Heights. On a later album, "The Sensual World" she has a song about a woman who falls in love with a man she later finds out is Adolf Hitler. Her music style and lyrics have always been fascinating and unique and it's never been more present than on this album. The title is referring to a concept in Aboriginal Australian Mythology which unless you were knowledgeable on that very niche and specific topic, you wouldn't be able to devise from it without listening to the album. Aside from the title track, she doesn't really touch on this theme much. There's "Pull Out the Pin" which is about the Vietnam War for what it's worth. Every song is lyrically so unique and interesting any of them could've worked for the title. The album cover itself seems to be an allusion to the track "Houdini" so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if other songs were considered for the title before she settled on "The Dreaming"

Favorite Band: They Might Be Giants - Lincoln
While only my 4th favorite album I feel like it's one of their most important albums and I thought it would fit better on here than John Henry or Self Titled would.
Anyone who knows me even just a tiny bit knows just how much I absolutely adore this band. Everything about them is so fascinatingly awesome to me. From their name to their lyrics, to their uninterrupted career spanning more than 40 years, to their relatively small yet strong and dedicated fanbase to their live shows, all of it is the perfect recipe for a band that I'd have no choice but to fall in love with.

Favorite Solo Artist: Talkshow Boy - Watch As I Perform My Own Tracheotomy
I've said it before, and yes, I do prefer Testosterone, I just think the album cover for Tracheotomy is better.
I know I probably shouldn't be relating to the lyrics of some of these songs, but I do?? I've stated on numerous occasions that Adrian's music made my High School years less hellish, and it's true, but there's more to it than that. The tunes are infectiously catchy and upbeat, with lyrics that feel truly unadulterated and genuine.

Best EP: Lil Ugly Mane - Uneven Compromise
The phrase "literal chills" is cliche as fuck but nothing else quite encapsulates my feelings when I listened to this for the first time. There is a lot going on with this one both lyrically and musically. The first "Act" is terrifying, the repeated phrase "Corrupted by the darkness, now you fall into an endless sleep" perfectly illustrates the tone. Act 2 is largely made up of samples from other artists' testimonies and perspectives on the industry and the shadiness of it all, and while it's arguably the "weak point" of the track but still works really well. Act 3, while nowhere near as sinister tonally on the surface, is just as if not more chilling. The narrator tells a story about an old friend of his, and honestly it's better if you just go and listen to it for yourself, but I think the lyrics "Cuz all I wanna do is see my people live large,  I always try to see my people better than they are" sum it up nicely. The final act is a haunting instrumental followed by harsh noise, and while polarizing to most people I've heard talk about this EP, I would argue it thematically a great way to end it off.

Most Depressing: Nick Drake - Pink Moon
I like to think that despite my depression and all, I present myself as incredibly cheery online so I wonder if it's surprising just how much I relate to this album. Songs like "Parasite" to be specific. I'm not gonna turn this into some shitty trauma dump session or whatever, I just want to bring this all up. I'm very cheerful and happy and energetic online but in real life I'm kinda the opposite. I feel moreso like, well, a parasite. I've been trying to open up more to people and letting my true self shine through in real life, but it is pretty difficult honestly. It'll take some work, but I know that eventually, that soon, I'll have the confidence to show myself as the girl I know I am to everyone irl. This got a little too personal, sorry.

Song of the Day: Kate Bush - Babooshka
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLBOSS YOU'RE SO GOATED

Media Log 2025 - July 30th:

95. Tom Lehrer - More of Tom Lehrer
1959 album, [A]wesome
Still can't believe he's gone. 2025 sucks man :(

96. Matilda (1996)
1996 film. [M]agnificent
I don't need to say anything more than what I've already said at the beginning of this post. An instant favorite, I should probably reread the book while I'm at it.

After Writing

97. They Might Be Giants - Lincoln
1988 album. [M]agnificent
Not their most popular album, that title goes to Flood, but still probably their most acclaimed album, by both fans and critics. With iconic tracks such as Ana Ng, Cowtown, Purple Toupee, Where Your Eyes Don't Go, They'll Need a Crane, and Kiss Me Son of God, it's easy to see why. Also The World's Address and I've Got A Match because those are some of my favorites on here and I wanted to mention them.

98. Tyler, the Creator - Chromakopia
2024 album, [O]kay
Oh goodness, here we go... I don't think Tyler has released an album this polarizing since Cherry Bomb. I've heard people say it's one of his best, others say it's one of his worst. Where do I stand? It's okay? The first 10 tracks are pretty cool, but I'm not a big fan of the last 4. Yes, that includes Like Him. I just don't really get it. I'm sorry. Noid and Tomorrow are my personal favorites here. Maybe I'll be able to "get" it after a couple more listens but right now I just don't

Here's my updated album ranking though
  1. Igor
  2. Flower Boy
  3. Wolf
  4. Call Me If You Get Lost
  5. Cherry Bomb
  6. Chromakopia
  7. Don't Tap the Glass
  8. Goblin
  9. Bastard

Some Thoughts

July 29th 2025

Slowly but surely getting out of my depression, I know I say that a lot but I've really started to figure things out and I'm starting to feel just a little bit happier, y'know? I'm still kind of a mess, but at least I'm gonna be a happy mess. I think the true meaning of life is what you make of it, and maybe the way I'm living isn't entirely fulfilling, but if I can find happiness, and inspire other people to find happiness themselves, it'll all be worth it. I have a lot of varying interests and I wonder if I'll truly be able to achieve everything I want to regarding all of them. I think that's another problem, I don't know where to start with anything. I'm trying to get that part figured out, but it might be more tedious than it should be for me. One thing I've never really talked about that I have a bit of an interest in is fashion, although lets be real I'm a chronically online trans girl what the fuck do I know about fashion?

It's something interesting I consider a lot though. If I were to like dip my toes in fashion designing or some shit. I think it would be cool, who knows? I like cute and soft things so of course that's the kinda style I'd be going for lol. It's just a thought, ya know? Sometimes I feel like I sound like a little kid with all of my stupid ambitions and not really knowing how to put them into action, it's weird. My whole life I've had ideas and ambitions but I was too young to really go anywhere with them. Now I feel like I'm old enough and I'm not living up to my full potential. Every day is a small step sure but these steps are too small I fear.

I'm just scared time is gonna catch up to me and I'm gonna be out of college with no fucking idea what I'm doing with my life. I guess I just don't wanna be tied down to one specific medium to express my creativity, I'm sure this is a very common sentiment, but I don't really know what to do about it. I'm scared I'm sounding pretentious or some shit, I hope not. I've just felt a certain kind of way my entire life and some sort of fear has been stopping me from making any progress anywhere.

I'm too tired to worry about it right now, though. I'm gonna try to straighten out my sleep schedule sine I feel like a lot of my issues have to do with my fucky sleep schedule. I tend to be tired quite often.

Song of the Day: Peter Schilling - Major Tom
Second favorite song about a guy named Major Tom. It's close though.
Media Log 2025 - July 29th:

94. Kate Bush - Never For Ever
1980 Album, [M]agnificent, Last Logged 04/25/24
I wanna maybe try bringing back the little comments under the log entries or something but honestly I usually don't have much meaningful insight to give. I really enjoyed this album a lot and I don't know how to describe my thoughts further. Army Dreamers is a genuine masterpiece that's incredibly relevant right now. Like I don't think this song's themes have been more applicable to the current state of the world since Vietnam, which ended before this song came out but still. Easily my favorite song not just from this album but Kate Bush's discography in general.

Still not over it

July 28th 2025

I still can't believe Tom Lehrer is really gone. His music has always been a part of my life. I think I talked about this but when I was 7 I was really into the periodic table of elements for some reason. Three songs in particular helped me memorize all the elements as a kid: Meet The Elements by They Might Be Giants (this was how i was introduced to them), ASAPScience's Periodic Table song, and of course, The Elements by Tom Lehrer. I've heard this song among others over the years, but I didn't know his name until late last year.

I'm glad I got to know the guy who was influential on both me and some of my other biggest influences before his passing though. 97 years is one hell of a life.

Song of the Day: My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words
I slept on this song so hard for like three years it's one of the best from the album.

RIP Tom Lehrer

July 27th 2025

Fuck my life dude, Tom Lehrer just died.

He was 97 so he definitely lived a long and undeniably incredible life. Man invented jello shots when he was in the military to get past an alcohol ban, and went on to inspire the likes of Weird Al Yankovic among many others.

I knew it would happen eventually, but I still wasn't ready for it.

Rest in peace, legend.

Song of the Day: Tom Lehrer - We Will All Go Together When We Go
First Ozzy and now Tom Lehrer? Whoever's going G.O.A.T. hunting please stop.

not too fond of spotify

July 25th 2025

I got a haircut!!! ^_^ I feel cute as hell once again! yay!! I rlly like having my hair being a lil short. Not too short obviously but just a lil yknow!!! I think it suits me really well...

King Gizzard took all of their music off of Spotify, I respect and absolutely understand this decision. I kinda hate Spotify lmao? At the same time I use it a lot mostly because of convenience. I wanna switch to Bandcamp since it's better when it comes to supporting artists and such, and I've given speeches for my public speaking class and such talking about why Bandcamp is better for artists, so I'm kind of a hypocrite. It's just the problem that a lot of the stuff I really like isn't on Bandcamp. Only 17/23 of TMBG's studio albums are on there, and many artists I like aren't on there at all. And while I kinda understand why, it's still unfortunate as hell. I do still have a small collection on Bandcamp which I plan to add to as much as possible to support the artists that are on there who I love, King Gizzard included!

Song of the Day: Plus-Tech Squeeze Box - Dough-Nuts Town's Map
They have two albums bolded on RateYourMusic, but only one song. That's kinda funny to me for some reason.

OH MY FUCKING GOD.

July 24th 2025

I guess I like Superhero movies, to an extent. I think Deadpool is badass and funny (I know thats a reddit take of me whatever I really dont care tbh) I ADORE the Spiderverse movies, and I've seen a few MCU movies and I thought they were okay for the most part even if I can probably count the MCU movies I've seen on both hands. Actually hold on

1. Avengers: Age of Ultron
2. Ant-Man
3. Captain America: Civil War
4. Thor: Ragnarok
5. Black Panther
6. Avengers: Infinity War
7. Ant-Man and the Wasp
8. Captain Marvel
9. Avengers: Endgame
10. Spider-Man: Far From Home
11. Spider-Man: No Way Home
12. Deadpool & Wolverine

ok, my hands dont have one extra finger each so I guess I was wrong, point is I've seen relatively few of them, and the ones I've seen I've never really had much to say about beyond "yeah I thought it was cool" Except Deadpool & Wolverine that one was peak. I intend to watch them all at some point but it's not something I feel like I need to do ASAP and I'll probably get to it when I can both set aside time for it and when I'm actually interested enough to do so, and I don't know when those two things will align tbh.

Then theres the DCEU... I've seen uh.
1. Man of Steel
2. Batman v. Superman
3. Shazam
4. Suicide Squad (2021)

and thats it basically lol. I don't remember a damn thing about the first two. Suicide Squad 2021 was pretty cool. I personally thought Shazam was amazing. Heard the second one sucks though lol.

So when I first heard about James Gunn's Superman, I didn't really understand much of the hype to be honest. I was never too interested in Superman, most of my interest in the DC universe in general ended at Batman and the characters associated with him/his villains etc if that makes sense. But I heard so many good things about this movie I had to check it out, and honestly? It definitely didn't disappoint.

It was by no means a perfect film, sure. I definitely feel like it was juggling a lot of things and there was a lot introduced that could've been explored more. I can't really get into most of what I mean without spoilers, but there is one thing I'm still a little confused about. What the hell is Krypto's deal? I get that he's also a dog that I'm assuming came from Krypton, but that just raises even more questions. I don't know, it's confusing to me and I'm not sure how to properly explain my confusion, he was a great part of the movie though.

The casting was pretty great, I'll reiterate that I'm not too familiar with any of these characters, but from what I do understand about them, everyone really felt well suited for their roles.

I would say personally for me this is a 10/10. The message of kindness and hope really resonated with me and is something we definitely need right now. It really spoke to me.

Song of the Day: Sufjan Stevens - The Man of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts
Sufjan Stevens had this "Fifty States project" idea where he wanted to write an album for every U.S. State like bro you aint John Linnell (I know Linnell's thing was state songs but still) (btw im joking Sufjan Stevens is a great musician and songwriter) (The song Chicago which is also from this album makes me cry)

taking the whole day off again

July 23rd 2025

Nice to have a day to myself for once. I'm finished with my summer classes. B in Math and C in Public Speaking. Yay! ^_^
Next semester is gonna be hard, but for now I'm gonna watch some MLP and work on cleaning my room over the rest of the Summer that I have free :3

Song of the Day: MGMT - Little Dark Age
Fucking incredible song that right wing TikTok kids made corny using it to glorify war. No, Huxley, war doesn't have a respawn mechanic and this song playing on loop over the speakers.

RIP Prince of Darkness

July 22nd 2025

I knew this was going to happen very soon, but damn man it still hurts.
Rest in peace to the prince of darkness, Ozzy Osbourne.
I've never been too into Black Sabbath or his solo music but I still have a lot of respect for his work.

I don't really know what else to say about this, I'm sorry.

Song of the Day: Ozzy Osbourne - Mama, I'm Coming Home
Rest in peace to the Prince of Darkness. It's kinda crazy how much of a significance he's had in my life for reasons I can't even begin to explain. Wild.

in darkness

July 21st 1999

Avery Island, Zrephel

"Listen. I know I'm the last person you wish to hear from, but I need your guidance. Two bodies were found last night, a male and a female. Same time, same cause of death, overdose. Far away from each other, though. The female was found deep in the forest and the male right outside my home, strangely enough. Initially I had believed this to be a suicide pact but the circumstances around it are all too peculiar. You're highly intelligent, and this wouldn't be the first time you've dealt with cases bordering on the unusual. Please, just get here as soon as possible. I know you want nothing to do with this place anymore, but you're the last person I can trust.

Regards,

D.D."

Song of the Day: Oingo Boingo - Pictures of You
It's just something about this song, man. I don't know how to describe it. It's incredible. This album as a whole is lyrically insane in the best way. I still prefer Dead Man's Party and Nothing to Fear, but Good For Your Soul is not very far behind.

F.N.H.

July 20th 2025

I slept most of the day, but I had some pretty fascinating dreams that I believe to be prophetic, We'll see how these dreams could potentially relate to my future projects. :3

"It truly was a Long Tall Weekend"

July 19th 2025

Happy 26th birthday to Long Tall Weekend! Two years ago I said this album was mediocre and that Dark and Metric was the only song worth revisiting. While I still think this is their weakest album, a lot more songs from it have grown on me. Lullaby to Nightmares is probably my new favorite song from the album, but there’s still some other pretty good ones like Reprehensible, Certain People I Could Name, They Got Lost (although Severe Tire Damage version is better), and Older. (I probably listen to the Mink Car version of Older more but the LTW version is preferred by most fans I think) Operators Are Standing By and Rat Patrol are fairly decent too I guess.

Song of the Day: They Might Be Giants - Lullaby to Nightmares
Probably my favorite from this album, actually. There are others worth revisiting, though. Forget what I said two years ago.

omg

July 18th 2025

One of my fav artists, Talkshow Boy, just followed me back on Instagram. I think that's really awesome, but I'm not gonna make a big deal out of it I just think it's cool since I've been a huge fan for years now.

It's been a while since I've chosen a TSB song for song of the day. Last time was March 28th 2024 for the 2 year anniversary of me getting into his music for the first time.

hmmm...

Song of the Day: Talkshow Boy - Single of the Year (Talkshow Boy Sings An ARIA)
I remember listening to this for the first time when I was 15 and thinking the Residents namedrop was the coolest thing ever since I still believed they were extremely niche. I mean yeah they’re not very well known but they’re undeniably influential. Oops I’m yapping about The Residents when this is a Talkshow Boy song.

10K SCROBBLES FOR TMBG

July 16th 2025

I REACHED QUINTUPLE DIGIT SCROBBLES FOR THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS ON LASTFM YEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH WOOOOOO!!!! >_< fuck yeah

My 10,000th for them was "Rabid Child" which is cool because that song is lowkey mecore (Hammer Down! Rabbit Ears!) You get what I mean, right?

Might do an mlp character tier list but tbh I don't remember what a lot of them were like. Started rewatching the show to get a good idea though, I can't believe I'm really hyperfixating on this shit in the big '25 like I'm 9 years old again. I guess I just stopped caring about being potentially made fun of for liking it. Even if some people in the fandom ruin the reputation. I get it there's some real weirdos into this cartoon horse show for children and like sure whatever you might be the type of person where you'll hear "adult fan of children's show" and even if theyre not a part of the clopping or jar or gore animation crowd you still think "wow they must be weird" and like ok whatever i guess thats what you think but like I don't think it's too weird to just find it cute and/or be invested in the characters and story. Also there's some really cool sides of the fandom that get overlooked for the weird shit because the weird shit is more entertaining (which like. fair enough i cant argue with the entertainment value of weird brony shenanigans. I still rewatch the "it's called clopping" video every now and then because i find it really funny.) but i guess why i managed to find myself coming back to ponies all these years later is probably a combination of me not giving a shit about embracing my love for cuteness, nostalgia, and the positive side of the fandom culture, even if the fandom is a bit of a ghost town after the show ended like six years ago. My favorites are Fluttershy and Sweetie Belle btw if it wasn't obvious if you know like anything about me.

Song of the Day: They Might Be Giants - Rabid Child
Lowkey Noracore song (hammer down rabbit ears and all that hehe) honored that this is my 10,000th play for They Might Be Giants on last.fm

mlp phase is back

July 15th 2025

Yea it's happening again I'm back on my brony (pegasister I guess now) bullshit ehehehe.
I saw some pretty cool fanart on Derpibooru actually there was a redraw of the album cover for Talkshow Boy's 2004 album Watch As I Perform My Own Tracheotomy but with ponies.

I love that album btw. Talkshow Boy is awesome. He was my top artist on lastfm in 2022-2024. Probably won't be this year because no one's beating out They Might Be Giants I fear.

I'm almost at 10,000 plays for tmbg overall tho!!! I LOVE TMBG GAH

Talkshow Boy is my 2nd most played artist with like 5,000 or somethin. His music hit hard for me in High School, I had certain intervals in like every year from Sophomore to Senior where his music meant a lot to me for one reason or another.

We Make a Beeline to the Auditorium used to remind me of ... this one girl... I never ended up talking to... lol.
Is it weird now that I only wanna be friends again at this point? Because like if I try to reach out again through social media or some shit it'll be like "oh yeah i just wanted to be friends" but do normal people even think about former friendships like this??? Do I just feel guilt for the kind of person I was in 8th grade or what the hell. It was the last school year before I transitioned so I wonder 🤔

This really went from ponies to Talkshow Boy to my extreme social anxiety. I love doing this journal.

Song of the Day: Lil Ugly Mane - Bitch I'm Lugubrious
Speaking of shit I was big into in Sophomore and Junior year. Think I called LUM my favorite artist at the beginning of junior year for a class introduction assignment thing.

jehehfhefaaaaaaaaaabluh

July 14th 2025

I like to think of myself as a mostly sweet and kind person. But even the nicest people have their limits. Regardless I can't help but feel wrong and whenever I assert myself in situations I feel like I'm being too mean. Sometimes I wonder if I'm allowed to have boundaries at all. But I am, it doesn't make me a bad person for having boundaries. I have to be assertive and admittedly a little bit of an ass about them because no one will fucking listen to me otherwise. It's my fault because I'm probably not being assertive enough

and yknow this is unrelated but I try to be a kind person but I shouldn't be allowed to put up with people who are just terrible, should I?

oh well. it is what it is.

Song of the Day: Gorillaz - Tranz
This song is so good. I might be TRANZgender. heh

I LOVE PICREW

July 11th 2025

Yeah Bleach is still the best Nirvana album, I don't like it as much as I remember but it's still the best one.
I'm almost at 10k plays/scrobbles/listens for They Might Be Giants on last.fm!!! I'll get there by the end of the month surely if not within the next week lmao.

Also I made myself in a buncha picrews and they're so cute!!! LOOKIE IT'S MEEEE ^w^

I do in fact love nerds, mwehehe >///<

This one is rlly fckn cute!! YIPPEE! I love Hello Kitty

My personal favorite!!! I NEED TO LOOK AND DRESS LIKE THIS IRL!!! I've been trying for years and I kinda looked like this in 2021 but after the depression hit I just look like a homeless walking corpse most days. Someday I'll be a cutie again. >:3
When I get outta my depressed state it's over for y'all >:P

I always loved this Picrew creator, the eyes look so soft and comforting and it's a really cute art style!
The artist did something similar for some pngtuber studio program I might wanna check out :O
I wanna become a vtuber or pngtuber or something i dunno maybe
I promise I won't be one of the weird lolibait ones if I do

I look kinda sinister here... >_<
Bunny ears + moth wings combo goes hard though, wish I had it in real life.
Hopefully when I start estrogen :P

Song of the Day: Nirvana - Paper Cuts
I love when he says "Nirvana" in the song like yeah thats the band name. Goes kinda raw as hell.

not as bad as i was expecting!

July 10th 2025

Had a dentist appointment this morning. So apparently I have to get a couple fillings later this month. In about two weeks or so? Usually it's pretty bad but they're small cavities so it shouldn't be too bad. Also, they suggested I bring some headphones or something to ease my auditory sensitivity when they're drilling and stuff. They seem nice, even if the numbing stuff and the pain always terrifies me. The last time I had to deal with this was like four years ago or so. The whole month of June 2021 I was like "fuuuuck at the end of this month I'm gonna have to deal with this" and it wasn't really that bad the numbness felt kinda weird though.

I don't think it'll be too bad. I got my wisdom teeth out at the end of 2022 too, which is much worse than this lol. That was a couple days before I started this journal thing actually ehehe. Can't believe I've been doing this shit for this long. I originally got the idea for this thing in October of 2022 or so because we had this whole daily freewrite journal thing in my creative writing class. Also this is weird but I just remembered this is the same classroom that my mythology class was in. Yknow the one where I met you know who. Same class the other girl I had a crush on was in lol. I wonder how both of them are doing now.

I still wish I built up the courage to talk to her.  I don't have romantic feelings for her anymore but I still really wish we could be friends again because she was a pretty sweet person to me always back when we were still friends in 8th grade. Even though I was highkey a dumbass insufferable loser in 8th grade, she was still pretty friendly with me and put up with my bullshit. Maybe we'll meet somewhere again and I'll get another chance. Anything's possible.

OH YEAH THAT 59 I GOT ON THE TEST THE OTHER DAY?! It got bumped up to a 72 so I still have a B in math. In fact, I have a chance at an A if I lock the fluff in.

Song of the Day: Sidney Gish - Sin Triangle 😈
Haven't listened to this album since I was recommended it in 2021. Need to get back on that :3

So. I got a 59 on the math test. Could've been worse, could've been better for sure though!
That's life I guess.
Reinstalled the TMBG app and it's still kinda lame tbh. I love the band but yeah. Just plays the same five songs lol
Curious about Persona 5 X though.... it looks cute.... >_<

Think I'm slowly but surely starting to get out of my depression! Yay! :D
