This is shaping up to be a long week.

I really hate having to write about depressing shit, and here I am having to do it for my Anthropology class. For once I think my favorite class right now is public speaking, I have two speeches I'm currently working on. One is about celebrating creativity and another is about music. Both are topics I'm really passionate about. The English and Anthropology essays are difficult because for Anthropology I have to write about really heavy shit that I have to approach very delicately, and for English I'm writing about poetry which I really struggle with. I've always been good at writing poetry, but analyzing the poetry of others is not my strong suit. 

I have to wake up at like 7 in the morning every day now, which is not what I'm used to and not very fun. Thankfully it's just until Thursday. My stupid ass took a nap instead of finishing the essays today though. I should be using this extra time to my advantage. I fell back asleep when I got home so I didn't even finish them then lol. Rough day, rough week, but I'll adjust tomorrow hopefully. I also nearly fell down three floors because I was out of it and got chased by two large dogs who wanted to be petted but I was just frozen in fear I couldn't do anything. Is it kinda cringe that I'm terrified of big dogs? Probably...

I don't know what my problem is. Whenever I try to get something finished I write like a paragraph and I don't know what else to say, I want to cry but I can't even bring myself to. I still wonder what I did to deserve this fate. What I did to have to depend on a bunch of pills to "function." I feel like my creative writing might actually take me somewhere, but I don't even know. I've been discouraged so much by those who claim they'd support me no matter what I choose to do with my life but now I want to do this and it's not enough? Sorry.

Repo! The Genetic Opera disappointed me.

this'll be fun.

So it's been about 10 months since I decided to watch Repo! The Genetic Opera. A weird science fiction horror musical with Paris Hilton. Fun fact! The budget for this film was like $8.5 million, and they only made less than $200k of that in the box office. Now that's just sad. Either way the movie isn't good, I don't know why I'm talking about it 10 months after watching it... it just lives rent free in my head lol. Zydrate Anatomy was a really good song. I liked the premise and it looked cool visually, but man it was so corny for lack of a better word im fuckin tired ok but it was corny as shit and kinda hard to watch at times. There's a song called Mark it Up, just listen to the song honestly I think it illustrates everything I dislike about this musical in one song. I love excessively edgy campy bullshit but this is just so corny. Also the guy behind it is allegedly a huge creep, and when you have that information in your brain while watching it makes it feel a lot more uncomfortable than it is without the context. I don't know much about the allegations and I'm not gonna get into that because it's not really what I want to talk about here, I just think it's important to bring up to contextualize my grievances with this mess of a musical. I wanted to like it, I even gaslit myself into liking it back in June. I even wanted to cosplay one of the characters, Blind Mag at one point. I'm not saying liking this movie makes you a horrible person, there were a few things I loved about it and I can definitely understand why someone would be into this and that's good for them but this is just something I haven't been able to get into because there's so much that bothers me about it. There's also honestly some really cool ideas here. This could've been a really interesting and unique commentary on the American healthcare system, I even liked the often criticized comic strip exposition! The bad still outweighs the good with this movie. Don't even get me started on the fucking ending. 

Anyways 4/10. I really tried to like it but fuck man. This just sucks.

I'm going to be honest, Spring is kinda my favorite season. It's pretty, very pretty, I like the flowers and baby animals. That being said, I hate how bad my allergies get this time of year. I feel so damn sick and I have so much shit to do and it's hard to do shit when my allergies are fucking with my head. I love spring but this is so horrible. Winter and Autumn might be better to be honest. Not Summer though. Summer is very pretty and all but damn the heat is hard to deal with most days. Doesn't help that it's only getting hotter because of global warming...

I still can't believe Val Kilmer is gone. I've only seen Tombstone, but it truly is an incredible film. I've also been meaning to watch The Doors movie with him as Jim Morrison. The Doors is a great band by the way. Everyone talks about Jim but their keyboardist Ray Manzarek went something wacky on the self-titled album. Also he has a solo album called The Golden Scarab which is an awesome album name and I think I need to listen to that album lowkey. THE DOORS SELF TITLED IS PEAAAAK. I EAT MORE CHICKEN THAN ANY MAN EVER SEEN. I love my shitty cia funded circus music.

YA GIRL IS BACK ON VYVANSE AND GOT A HAIRCUT IM FEELING CUTE AND AWESOME!!! VYVANSE MY BELOVED!!!! I haven't been on it since like early 2022 and I think it contributed to a lot of my problems the past few years, I had a hard time functioning without it. Is that embarrassing? I dunno, probably. Also the Nintendo Switch 2 direct dropped and I have.... mixed feelings. $90 for physical games?? That aren't even really physical games because they have some weird bullshit thing they're doing with them. On top of that the console is $450 for practically 10+ year old hardware. It's just really bullshit. However I do have a lot of positive things to say about the game announcements so let's get right into that. 

Mario Kart World - Looks absolutely amazing. I've never been TOO into Mario Kart but it always is very much a fun time when I play it and this looks like it's gonna blow most of the previous titles out of the water. You can play as the Moo Moo Meadows cows now? Absolute insanity, I'm excited. Like I said though $90 is outrageous. Also the new Donkey Kong design is... not great. I liked the Mario movie. I called it "peak" when I first saw it. (I strongly disagree with my past self there) but I don't think it was good enough to justify this Donkey Kong redesign. 

Actual game chat was announced as well. It's about damn time too. The competitors have had this for decades. Leave it to Nintendo to be twenty years behind, though. I don't wanna be too pessimistic about this though, I think some of these features are really cool. Especially the camera thing, which I doubt I'll really be using too much personally but hey it's cool that it's an option. 

Also it launches four days after my birthday, so depending on how much money I get for my birthday I might be able to buy it when it comes out. Possibly. Still think the price is kinda bullshit though to be completely real with y'all. 

Welcome Tour - A glorified instruction manual sold separately? You gotta be kidding me lmao. 

I don't really have much to say about the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of a lot of Switch games. The Kirby and the Forgotten Land one looks interesting. New story for a game that was already fantastic? Sign me up!

Drag x Drive - Interesting little tech demo. Kinda reminds me of Rocket League, a game that I have not played lmao.

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition - Honestly? I tried to get into Elden Ring when it first came out and couldn't really. I'm sure it's a great game just wasn't really my thing I guess? Maybe now I have an excuse to give it another shot.

Hades II - I have not played either of the Hades games, definitely on my list though. Feel like I should mention I won't have much to say about the games that aren't Switch 2 exclusives.

Street Fighter 6 - Now for a game I have actually played. I already have it on PS5 so I don't think I'll buy it for Switch 2. I just hope that along with the release of the Switch 2 version we get a season 3 DLC announcement (SAKURA PLEASE IM BEGGING ON MY HANDS AND KNEES)

Daemon X Machina - I don't know what this is. Doesn't really look like something I'd be interested in but I guess it looks cool for someone who does like this type of thing.

Split Fiction - I also don't know what this is. It looks slightly more interesting to me though.

EA Sports - Also not my thing. Happy it's there for those who like it though.

Hogwarts Legacy - Look, I'm not gonna say "this game is bad because jk rowling harry potter" whatever. Honestly? The game looks fine to me. I obviously don't like JK Rowling as a person, and I'm sure you can enjoy this game just fine without liking her as a person. I also enjoyed the first two Harry Potter books I read when I was a kid. (I don't know if I'll still like them nowadays but whatever) It's just for me personally I don't wanna play something with her name attached to it. I dunno. 

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater - HELLL YEAH NOW WE'RE TALKIN ^_^

Hitman World of Assassination - No comment on this because again not really something I'd be interested in.

Bravely Default - These games always looked very interesting to me. Maybe I'll check this one out. I'm very much a sucker for JRPGs, especially Square Enix JRPGs.

Yakuza 0 - The Yakuza series has always intrigued me quite a bit, but I haven't played any of the games. Again, now I finally have an excuse I guess.

Hyrule Warriors - YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS WOOOOOOOO

GameCube - WIND WAKER!!! PATH OF RADIANCE!!! XD GALE OF DARKNESS!!! COLOSSEUM!!! SUPER MARIO STRIKERS!!! OH MY GODDDDDDDD. Also I'm glad the other classics are gonna still be on Switch 2. I don't know where I'd be without my Earthbound or Kirby 64. Which I haven't played in a while because my Switch online expired. I'll probably renew it if I have the money after this (unlikely)

Deltarune - DELTARUNE TOMORROW YESSSSS. In all seriousness I LOVE Deltarune, maybe even more than Undertale. The characters and story have more of an emotional grip on me personally. I still do love Undertale though. 

Borderlands 4 - I like Borderlands 2. Every game after that? Well, they exist! That's for sure. Don't even get me started on that damn movie.

Civ 7 - It's really funny how Luigi Mangione worked on Civ 6 and now that he's in prison Civ 7 is ass. Free my boy.

WWE 2K and NBA 2K - Yep. shit just got fucking awesome. 

Survival Kids - maybe.

Enter The Gungeon 2 - Okay, interesting! I wasn't too into the first one, maybe the second will be better.

Starseeker - alright I guess

Cyberpunk 2077 - Another game I've been interested in for a while. The fact that it's coming to Switch 2 is pretty bonkers.

Overall, despite the insane prices of both the games and the console itself, I'm pretty excited for the Switch 2. I don't think I'll be buying any of the non-exclusive games on Switch 2 as opposed to like PS or Steam or whatever, but I still think it's cool that they're on there. Overall I'm most excited for Puyo Puyo 2S, Deltarune Chapters 3+4, and Mario Kart World.
